there's no real order, so just go crazy, or dont install them at all. they're cool mods and will add to the game. all the mods on the top and bottom right hand columns are pretty optional. this will help eliminate a lot of stuttering.ĩ.
the most useful things are towards the end where you can find the settings for dual core processors, memory, and graphics. exit and go to the tweakguide and follow it closely. so before step 8, i recomend getting to the sewer exit and saving right before it gives you the final option to edit your race/birthsign etc.Ĩ. there is a fix for this because it's a well known bug, but aparently the fix didnt work. i went back and started a new game and the king never came, and i never talked to the guy in the other cell. i did all of these mods at the sewer exit right before exiting. even if you arent planning on changeing anything with your character as far as models go, i suggest talking to the guy across from your cell and waiting for the king to come and talk/open the passageway before exiting the game and following the rest of the steps. i assume with the new fancy 512mb cards and 8800s especially, you can run this with no problem.Įdit: warning! possible bug found! i think this is related to things changing models like the mystic elf mod. If you try using high textures on a 256mb card, it will cause some severe stuttering/loading/framerate/crashing issues. for my system settings, i have 16x AF, no fsaa, quality settings on everything, and vsync=on. i set every slider to w/ MEDIUM textures, HDR, and no self shadows(looked buggy). run oblivion, set up your game, res, everything. it will save some crap but most importantly, it changes some read only settings which 1.2 messed up and causes some texture mods to not work.ħ. set it up like in the pic below(ignore the other windows for now):Ħ. run obmm and go to utilities/archivevalidation. download and install oblivion mod manager (obmm)ĥ.
install shivering isles expansion if you have it.Ĥ. install the ENGLISH 1.2 patch(yeah, SI is supposed to have it included, but it messes up textures)ģ. install oblivion and whatever official mods you want(not shivering isles)Ģ. Ok, first of all, this guide is starting from scratch because 1.2 messed up some mods and obse.ġ. personally if things drop below 25 i want to rip my eyes out. my frames drop in the teens once in a while, but mostly stay between 25-45(outdoors). In this guide, i didnt really add any effects(new spells, carry more loot, unlimited attributes, other cheats, etc.) since most of them dont need an order to install and their usefullness is highly subjective.īefore i get started, i also want to mention that i dont recomend doing this on an outdated computer. Most of the mods listed, you can find at or from the above link. If you dont care to beef up the graphics, i highly suggest at least using btmod and immersive interface. so i made this sort of mini guide based mostly off of this awesome page I figured after going through the trouble of snapping shots and explaining stuff, it would get lost in the oblivion n00b thread.
